Job Title: Accountant Department:Finance PART I: POSITION OVERVIEW Position Summary: Maintaining the general ledger system while ensuring documentation of all business processes.
Will be responsible for assuring the accuracy of the account balances on a regular basis, assisting with budget and audit processes, preparing statistical reports and accommodating appropriate requests for financial data.
Will maintain financial records and documentation and work with appropriate personnel to ensure accurate presentation of financial data.
Will also be responsible for managing Payroll for the organization.
This includes updating employee payroll information, generating payroll bi-weekly, and enforcing payroll policies set by administration.
The accountant is also responsible for maintaining strict confidentiality of all employee information.
Responsible for reviewing and ensuring accuracy of all quarterly and annual payroll reporting, including W-2 and 1099s processed by Paylocity.
The accountant would also assist in maintaining the general ledger for the Foundation along with any other projects or duties as assigned.
Education/Experience: Bachelor degree in Accounting required.
Understanding of accounting principles and standards required.
1-2 years experience in Payroll, Paylocity experience a plus.
Previous healthcare accounting experience and an understanding of healthcare preferred.
Required Credentials (Licensure, Certification, or Registration): None required.
Employment Variables: Work is performed in an office environment, work hours will be agreed upon by Accountant and Supervisor but must cover the majority of the daily core business hours for the department.
Initial Tuberculosis (TB) test and drug screening is required by Winner Regional Health.
Rubella titer will also be drawn upon hire and immunization is required if no past exposure or indication of immunization.
Required to wear name tag provided by WRH and to dress in a professional manner.
Job Knowledge and Skills: Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Must have tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, visitors, and employees.
Must have good communication skills in working within the department and with the various departments of the organization.
Must have good working knowledge of all insurance and government claims processing and reimbursement.
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must be proficient in the use of the hospital information system and computers, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.

Function Accountant Understands structure of WRH general ledger Proficient in use of the Lawson accounting software system Familiar with the external data systems that feed the general ledger, understands the interactions, and is familiar with the data importing process Maintains accurate and complete supporting documentation Account reconciliation is timely and accurate and demonstrates the relevance of reconciliations Assists in monthly closings and understands the matching concept and the need to maintain accurate and appropriate data for accruals and estimates Records transactions in a timely manner Assists in accumulate statistics for monthly board report, year-end audits, and Medicare cost reports Assist in preparing required tax reports to meet the filing requirements Proficient in the use of Paylocity payroll system.
Enforces payroll policies and notifies appropriate department managers of any violations.
Generates payroll every two weeks with attention to obvious errors and unbalanced reports.
Understands and reviews monthly, quarterly and annual reporting required for payroll that is processed via Paylocity.
Research Skills Uses resources available (i.
