We're seeking a qualified individual to join the team providing oversight and direction of the financial analysis process for insurance companies based in South Dakota.
What Does This Position Do?
This position handles all aspects of insurance company premium taxes and issues insurance company licenses.
The premium tax duties include:
Recording quarterly and annual premium tax payments.
Running daily and monthly reports of premium taxes received from insurance companies.
Performing cross checks with the amounts received for the appropriate period and following up on any delinquent or deficient payments.
Investigates premium tax irregularities.
Verifies and processes premium tax refunds, recording quarterly and annual premium tax payments.
The insurance company licensure duties include:
Reviewing company applications to verify the proper forms and fees have been received.
Issuing and cancelling insurance company licenses as appropriate.
Working with the Secretary of States office regarding changes to insurance company articles of incorporation.

This is a Full-Time 40 Hour Weekly position with the Department of Labor and Regulation - Division of Insurance.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A basic knowledge of bookkeeping and an ability to learn and implement new processes.
The ability to use, or learn how to use basic computer programs like Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook as well as Adobe Acrobat.
This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
