Title: Radiology Technician Location: Rapid City, SD Duration: 3 months Job Summary: As a Radiology Technician, you will play a critical role in the healthcare team by performing diagnostic imaging procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions.
Your responsibilities will include operating radiographic equipment, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with medical professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities: Patient Imaging: Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, and fluoroscopy, as prescribed by physicians.
Ensure patient comfort and proper positioning during imaging examinations.
Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain radiographic equipment, ensuring its functionality and adherence to safety standards.
Collaborate with the radiology team to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
Radiation Safety: Adhere to radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.
Use protective equipment, such as lead aprons and shields, as required.
Image Quality: Produce high-quality diagnostic images by adjusting equipment settings and ensuring proper exposure techniques.
Evaluate images for clarity, accuracy, and completeness.
Patient Communication: Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and obtain relevant medical history.
Provide clear instructions for positioning and cooperation during imaging exams.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of imaging procedures, patient information, and equipment calibration.
Ensure timely and proper documentation in the electronic medical record system.
Collaboration: Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to analyze imaging results and contribute to patient diagnoses.
Participate in multidisciplinary discussions regarding patient care.
Requirements: Education: Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field from an accredited program.
Licensure/Certification: Current and valid state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Experience: Previous experience as a Radiology Technician is preferred, but new graduates may be considered.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating radiographic equipment and associated technology.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
Physical Requirements: Mobility: Ability to move and position patients, as well as stand for extended periods.
Stamina: Physical endurance to handle the demands of the job, including lifting and positioning patients.
Working Conditions: Environment: Work in hospitals, clinics, or imaging centers with exposure to various medical conditions.
Schedule: Rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the facility's operating hours.
