Director of Homeownership Programs

Due to an upcoming retirement, South Dakota Housing seeks an experienced leader to serve as Director of Homeownership Programs.
The position requires an individual with a proven record of achievement and high professional standards.
This position reports to the Executive Director, works as a member of the senior leadership team in close coordination with the Director of Finance and supervises homeownership program staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Primarily responsible for the administration of the Single Family Financing Programs including the First-time Homebuyer Program, Repeat Homebuyer Program, Downpayment Assistance Programs, Community Home Improvement Program, and Homebuyer and Renter Education.
This position will oversee approximately $500 million in newly originated Single Family loans per year.
Responsible for planning, directing, managing, and implementing housing financial goals, activities, fiscal functions and annual reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must possess a strong background in Real Estate finance including foreclosure and have excellent customer service skills as well as public speaking skills, marketing skills and data analytical skills.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and be able to manage a staff up to 10 individuals.
Candidate must be innovative and able to interpret federal and state laws and program regulations.
Computer proficiency required with a strong background in all Microsoft products.
Must have the ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with staff, professional affiliates, and the general public.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, real estate or a related field, or a combination of related education and 5 years’ experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LOCATION: Pierre, SD (some travel is required) MINIMUM SALARY: $3,874.
11 per semi-monthly pay period.
SD Housing pays 100 percent of employees health, dental and vision insurance plus a percentage of family coverage.
Option for employer contributed Health Savings Account.
Additionally, paid family leave, eleven paid holidays, and accrual of 15 vacation and 14 sick days annually.
Participation in state retirement plan with SD Housing matching 6% and option to contribute to supplemental retirement.
