Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Administrator, and in collaboration with the Administrative team, the Community Outreach Coordinator designs, implements, maintains and coordinates the Community Outreach Program for Sacred Heart Center.
This includes the SHC volunteer program when in use.
The Community Outreach Coordinator is the primary contact for all SHC outreach activities and assists in the development, planning, and securing approvals for other department outreach activities.
The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of community education materials, events, and projects; overseeing all aspects of special events planning, coordination, organization and promotion; overseeing all aspects of volunteer participation, including recruitment, training, supervision, and scheduling; public relations development through community education, involvement and support; other administrative tasks.
Serves as the key point of contact for the FVS and CS outreach efforts with Administration.
Job Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall development, operation, and success of the organization’s community outreach program as well as outreach events, and other special Sacred Heart Center events.
Responsible for program budgeting, reports, reporting requirements, and billings as well as maintaining program statistics and source documentation.
Design, implement, and coordinate community outreach plans each fiscal year for the department and the overall organization.
Responsible for maintaining and ensuring complete, accurate records, source documentation, and reports related to outreach activities.
Assist in website revision/development, social media updates/news, and calendar of events.
Development of monthly agency newsletter as assigned.
Responsible for the development and update of all agency social media.
Must work closely with, communicate, and inform the Programs and Operations Administrator/Executive Director regarding program and service development, program concerns, event personnel and staffing issues, and client concerns.
Educate other agencies about and market the Sacred Heart Center and its’ mission, including the distribution of materials and participation in presentations at community events.
Collaborate with community partners and agencies and develop partnerships with social service, tribal, and community agencies/programs and schools for the organization and for community outreach.
Arrange, prepare, and coordinate community training, education, and outreach activities and events including developing materials for presentation and distribution including, but not limited to, domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, drug and alcohol usage, teen issues, and other identified issues/topics.
Assist with the development and implementation of special projects including family violence, domestic violence, and sexual assault programming and services and outreach advocacy.
Collaborate with the administrative team to plan community outreach programs, trainings, community training needs, and Sacred Heart Center events consistent with the needs of Sacred Heart Center.
Develop and implement support services for Sacred Heart Center clients in collaboration with Sacred Heart Center departments.
May regularly work 40+ hours per week as required to meet the needs of SHC, the Outreach program, and our mission, with the ability to work irregular shifts and hours as needed.
Provides other services and work duties as needed to meet the needs of the Sacred Heart Center and its ability to carry out its mission.
Supervision: Supervision Received: This position is directly supervised by the Director of Administration.

Supervision Provided: This position is a non-supervisory position, but may provide general guidance and assistance to other departments in the Agency and may act as a lead at outreach events and activities.
Minimum Qualifications: 1.
Education and Experience: Associate degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, etc is required, or a minimum of 4 years of verifiable outreach experience.
Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate discipline is preferred.
Knowledge of issues relating to domestic and sexual violence is preferred.
Previous experience in providing community outreach or marketing is strongly preferred.
Public speaking is strongly an essential part of this position.

Skills & Abilities: Maintain confidentiality in all departments.
Computer skills - must possess intermediate computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Outlook with the ability to learn job-specific programs and software to include MS Office Suite and Adobe.
Interpersonal skills must be able to communicate effectively with the community, public, administrative staff, and departmental staff Knowledge of the use of social media including Facebook, Instagram, etc.

Additional Requirements: Possess a valid South Dakota Driver’s License Be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.
Successfully pass pre-employment Drug Screen Successfully pass Criminal Background Check.

Operating a company vehicle as necessary to complete duties.
