AE2S is looking for a Construction Services Representative that will work with the project teams in central South Dakota to assist with construction observation on civil-related construction projects.
Responsibilities
Perform construction observation and administration on AE2S water reservoir, pipeline, pump station, and facility projects.
Ensure appropriate communication between the Owner and Engineer to keep all parties updated on progress and quality of the project.
Work with Contractors to ensure the project document requirements, process, schedule, and related contractual obligations are understood by Contractors performing work for Owner.
Understand duties and responsibilities under Engineer’s Agreement with the Owner, as well as the Contractor’s Contract with the Owner for each project to ensure obligations and expectations are met.
Monitor and document Contractor’s performance to ensure compliance with plan and specification requirements.
Understand and monitor project budgets and follow up on related tasks as assigned; coordinate Change Orders with the Project Manager.
Maintain and prepare appropriate files, reports, and records for documentation purposes including daily reports, tracking reports, photos, close out paperwork, and other information related to the project.
Attend meetings and follow up with other construction representatives and personnel related to scheduling, workforce, material delivery, change orders, RFI, start up, etc.
Represent AE2S in a highly professional and respectful manner at all times.
Regional travel and overnight stay required.
Basic Requirements
Related construction field experience
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to travel and work remotely for extended periods of time or based out of Pierre, SD
All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of construction experience or engineering based construction observation and administration experience
Experience on pipeline, water, wastewater, or rural water projects
Based out of Pierre, SD with willingness to travel based on project needs.
Physical
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
